The Sky is the Limit

Nice to see you here.  It is that time of year again for graduations. Cheery Lynn has a awesome Graduation die set as well as the sentiment "Graduation" so thought I would play with these dies to make a graduation card .

I started this card by embossing the base with the Clocks Embossing Plate  .
I then layered the Burlap Border  near the bottom. That gave me the base I wanted to build on.

Along the left side I have cut the Pierced Banners (Set of 3)  out of map paper and matted it with black cardstock. Because of the printed sentiment "The Sky is the Limit"  I thought the plane from the new Fun Travel Die Set would be perfect to layer on the banner and make it a great guy card.

The burlap border made a nice background to layer the grad hat and diploma on from the Graduation Set (Set of 2. I used gold paper for the tassle and ribbon as well as for the Graduation sentiment. I used some gold outline sticker along the top.

I used the two of the dies from the Say What? (Set of 16  for the  clouds in the sky and to print the sentiments on.

This is a front view of the card. All die cuts are popped up for added dimension. The banner I glued just along the top of the card and let it stick out at the bottom for even more dimension. I was quite pleased with the way the Graduation Set and the NEW Fun Travel Die Set  pair so well together to create this card.

Best Wishes

A warm Hello to you today.   I hope you all enjoyed the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog Hop last sunday with the design team showcasing some of the new releases. If not you can check them out on the CLD's blog by scrolling down to sundays post.

For this weeks card I wanted to showcase two more of the newly released dies. The Dutch Daisy A2 Card Facer Die Set is so elegant and is a set of three frames plus a few accent dies with it. The  Best Wishes Sentiment Square Die is just one of several  sentiment dies that CLD released with shapes around the sentiment. So this card was created using just these two dies.  This card has three layers all popped up and layered on top of the last layer. For the base I used white cardstock and placed the two larges frames from the Dutch Daisy A2 Card Facer Die Set on to the CS and cut them. I then mounted it onto a green card base.

Next I cut the smallest frame in aqua and popped and layered it on top of the white base.

Last I layered the Best Wishes Sentiment Square Die onto a square piece of green card stock. I popped and layered that on top of the aqua.  Goes to show you can make a beautiful card using just two dies.

Please come join the  bi-weekly challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs

If not then head back to the Cheery Lynn Designs blog @  http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/ and start from the beginning so you don't miss any of the wonderful projects  from our design team.  Cheery Lynn Designs will be giving a $20.00 prize to one random commenter on the Cheery Lynn Blog Hop Post.

For May's New Release I have chosen to showcase the "Fun Travel Set".

For this card I created a scenic background for the cruise ship. I printed Alaskan Cruise on the grey paper and then cut the cruise ship from it so the writing was on the ship. It is good way to personalize your cruise by doing this when scrapbooking or cardmaking. With layering the suitcase, tickets and flower arrangement it made for beautiful card.

Below are the images of the dies in the Fun Travel Set. I think this set is just awesome with the variety and  as always with CLD the detail as well.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, Your next visit on the Blog Hop is with Jenny @ "Jens Paper Obsession"  but before you go please leave a comment. For a Special Mother

Nice to see you here today.  I hope you are having a wonderful day doing what you love to do. I know Mother's Day is over but wanted to do one more Mother's Day Card . You could give a Mom this card any day of the year to show her how special she is without waiting until Mother's Day.

I had this beautiful piece of dragonfly paper in my stash that was card size and thought what a beautiful card that would make if I didn't cover the dragon fly up.  I did like the end results.

Here I inked and  layered one of the frames from the  Square Frames  set. I layered the Fern Leaf  and the small leaves which are from the Flourish #13 .  The flowers I used are Chrysanthemum Strip , Shasta Daisy , Daisy Strip  and Judy's Blooms . The centers of the flowers are from the Build a Flower # 1.

This sentiment is cut from one of the Say What? (Set of 16).

Here I have tucked in one of the vases  from the Vase (Set of 4) set in behind the floral arrangement. I used a piece of paper that had a tiny flower design to cut the vase from and I think the vase turned out so pretty.

I invite you to come on over to the Cheery Lynn Designs blog
@ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge and join the challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. I would love to see your creations.

Time for Tea

A warm Hello to you today. I would like to wish all you Mother's out there an very Happy Mother's day and hope you have the most wonderful day on  Mother's Day.

I started this card but placing the English Tea Party Doily  in the center. I then made the tea cup as my focal point which I have explain below. I added the  Add a Flourish  which kind of looks like steam coming out of the cup. and then tucked in a couple of the sentiment hearts. The Paris Sign  was layered on the top corner. I printed the sentiment out and then placed the paris 4 sign die over top of the printed sentiment so I could layer it on top of the sign. I stamped on the Pierced Banners  and layered it along the bottom.

For this  mothers Day card that I have created. I wanted to use a tea cup but didn't have a die for it so I used one of the vases  from the Vase (Set of 4 and the Paris Signs 4 - B550  to create this tea cup. I cut the top off the vase and used one of the flourishes from the paris sign for the handle.  I think it turned out pretty cool. I used the Felicity Tiny Doily - DL243 folded in half to set the tea cup on.

These hearts are from the Sweetheart Candy  die set and works great even on a mother's day card. I really liked the hearts tucked into the flourishes.

I invite you now to come join the Cheery Lynn design challenge
@ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge. The theme is "Mother's Day". It will give you a chance to win a $20.00 store certificate by entering the challenge.
