Fun in the Sun

Hi There.  I would like to share with you today a card that was made for the Cheery Lynn Challenge. The theme this week is "Hot Time in the Summer".  I am enjoying playing with the new dies so much. They are amazing. For this card I used two sizes of the new Horizon Square Stacker Frames. I mounted the cute image onto the smaller one using the Square Classic Lg Stackers. I took the new Fall Leaf Doily w/ Wing ( Cheery Lynn also has a border that matches it)  and cut some leaves out of the center and placed some leaves on the bottom right corner. I then cut the rest of the leaves from the inside of the fall doily and used what was left on the top left corner. A lot of Cheery Lynn dies are so versatile as you can use all or just parts of them for a totally different look.  The two suns are from the   Embellishment # 2. The tag was printed on the computer and then fussy cut by hand. The bumble bee is one of my favorites from the Tiny Things w/Wings. The bottom left embellishments were cut from the Embellishments #3 . I remember as a kid we played with pinwheels and these remind me of them. Stay tuned for next week as I will be creating with some of the new Halloween dies. Please join the fun and enter the Cheery Lynn Challenge for a chance to win a  $20.00 store credit. I would love to see your creations.

Season Of Joy

Hi Cheery Lynn Fans.  This week I had fun playing with some of the new Christmas dies and foil paper. The theme this week for the Cheery Lynn Challenge is
Silver and/or Gold.  I had picked out some 12x12 Christmas paper with gold designs on it about a month ago just for this challenge. I Started with  Horizon Coved Rectangle Stacker Frame and layered the Horizon Coved Classic  Lg on top. I embossed a Christmas verse in gold and placed the  Holly Lace Flourish and Holly Corner to the sides. The Poinsettia Strip  made the most beautiful poinsettia's cut out of foil paper.  I tucked the Ornament Christmas Tree behind the frame a bit. I cut the tree out in red and also in green foil and then cut the red and green ornaments off and added them to the black tree.  The Santa's Sleigh and Reindeer I cut three times , once in  black, gold and red foil. I then cut them apart making the sleigh and reins gold, the reindeer black and their collars red. The Winter Neighborhood Border  I cut apart and placed along the bottom on each side and used a gold pen to color the edges . The gold reindeer looked so nice that I popped one up in front of the house. The Birds of the Earth and Sky were so cute I had to add some along the bottom too. I hope I have inspired you and that you will join the challenge for a chance to win a $20.00  gift certificate. The design team came up with some stunning creations last week using the new dies. I'll Tell You a Secret

Here is my Cheery Lynn Designs challenge card for this week. The theme this week is beautiful borders. I made this beautiful border with the new Ankara Lace Border. The ovals matts are the new Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker Frames. I placed the Burlap Border for another layer in the background. A few flowers from the Sweet Williams Strip finished the corner off nicely along with some Olive Branches. The bow is from the Bow and Bell die. Please come and join the challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 certificate. Also check out the creations from the design team using the newly released dies at Remember to leave comments on the blog posts for your chance to win the Vintage Bicycle from our Steampunk collection! Best Friends Sharing a Lollipop

A warm Hello to everyone today. Thanks for visiting my blog again. If you visit the Cheery Lynn Designs website today you will see something very exciting. Their newly released dies are there for everyone to see. What amazing  designs they have come up with for us to create with. They also have two new videos on their site about the new releases which are well worth watching. This card above was created with a few of the newly released dies. To start with the base is  a Step Card die that is totally amazing and a unique base that you can die cut in like two minutes. Wow is all I have to say about it. The Cape Cod w Angel Wing doily has a wonderful pattern and perfect for placing beads around. I tried not to cover up too much of it so you could see all the pattern. Allison's Ribbons up the sides and along the bottom has two dies with the set. One for a assortment of  ribbons and one for different centers for the ribbons. One can always use a assortment of ribbons. The Black Eyed Susan Strip flower is just amazing. I love the fact that the center for the flower is on the same die strip as the  flower petals. A great idea Cheery Lynn. The center on this strip also makes cute little flowers like the three little pink flowers on my card. I also used the  Mini Fanciful Flourish and Flourish Leaf Strip. This is just a few of Cheery Lynn's  new designs.  Visit the Cheery Lynn Inspirational Blog for more ideas for using the new dies. The Design Team will be showing you some of their new creations daily. You can also find the Challenges their as well with more ideas.  Wishing everyone a sunny day.

Friend Card

A warm hello to everyone. Glad you are back for another weekly challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs. This weeks theme is "In Stitches". I started with the brown rose paper for the card base and machine stitched around the edges. I place the awesome Tiny Bubbles Border along the left hand side. I added another layer on top using the Celtic Chain. The Rum Punch Doily w Angel Wing was place as my focal point. I added some stitches around the inside of the doily with a marker. I cut the doily a second time in brown so I could have the center in brown. I then place a single flower from the Sweet William Strip so the center of the doily still showed as it is such a cool pattern. I added two flourishes using the Mini Fanciful Flourish. I cut two Lace Corner Deco J corners and added brown behind them to make them pop a bit. Some ribbon, a button and a metal sentiment with Friend on it gave it a nice touch. I stitched up the center of some of the ribbon using bakers twine. It was fun to use a combo of borders, doilies and corners not to mention flourishes and flowers. Hope you will come join our challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 store certificate at Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge. I would love to see some of your designs.
