The Emperors Swan

Hello I'm back today with a new Cheery Lynn Designs challenge creation. The theme this week is "Lots of Layers". I started with a dry embossed base using the Diamonds and Starburst embossing plate. My next layer is the new Margarita Border along the left side. I  added another layer using the outside of The Emperor's Swan die and then layered the Swan on top of that layer. The Steampunk Corners where placed on the top and bottom of the right side. The Add a Flourish was tucked a bit behind the swan along with the flowers from the Baby's Breath Flower Kit. A few pearls finished it off. Now I invite you to come join the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 store certificate.  See you next week for the "Dry Embossing" challenge.

Bling and More Bling

Hello I am back with the "Bing It Up" challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs. Bling is always so fun. I used the Square Stackers (rounding the corners) and the Horizon Square Stackers as my base. I then added the Horizon Fishtail Banner across the bottom to match. The flower arrangement was created using the Sweet Christine, Small Gardenia and the Cuties 2 . For filler around the flowers I used Add a Flourish, Rose Leaf Strip and Branches. A couple of Butterflies from the Small Exotic Butterflies #1 1were glittered up. The With and Love sentiments were added to the banner. For added touch I made a beaded pin and stuck in behind the flowers. Then a few pieces of bling here and there really added more sparkle to the card. I hope you will take some time to craft and enter the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 store certificate.

Mother's Day

Glad you came for a visit. We have a new challenge for you over at Cheery Lynn Designs. The theme is "Mothers Day".  This is my take on it. I thought a brick wall background would be the perfect background for the new Bird Bath. I like that you get two sizes of bird baths plus 6 different birds in this dies set. That's a lot of dies in one set.  I then bordered the top and bottom with the  Southern Charm Valance which  is already another favorite of the new releases. The bigger flowers are the new Sweet Christine. The tiny flowers are from the Tiny Flowers Kit and the Baby's Breath Flower Kit. I have some of the new Add a Flourish climbing up the bird bath. And the new Branch I place around the flowers and a couple near the bottom for the birds to perch on.  Well that is it for this week. Please come a play along with us in the Cheery Lynn Design challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 store certificate. Have a crafty week my friends.

Rustic Bird House Tag

Today is the day we have been waiting for. Cheery Lynn Designs has released some wonderful new dies. This rustic birdhouse tag was made with several of the newly released dies. I cut a tag shape with my paper cutter for the base. The Rustic Bird House was used as my focal point. I then used part of the Old Barn Board to make the post for the bird house to sit on. I used the Add a Flourish to climb around the post and bird house. The bird house is just priceless.  I tucked the Mandy Doily in behind it. I then placed part of the Southern Charm Valance along the bottom. A bird from the Bird Bath set is flying in front of the bird house. The flowers were made using the Tea Rose Small, Tea Rose Medium and the Gardenia Small. The leaves are from the tea rose strips and they are so detailed. You may want to stop by http://www.cheerylynndesigns.com/ and take a peek at the rest of the new dies. All of our design team members have projects to share you using the new dies so check them out @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/

Keep Time to the Music

A warm welcome to everyone. Glad to see you here for another weekly challenge at Cherry Lynn Designs. The theme this week is "Pretty In Purple". That is my favorite color. I started with a music printed background paper and placed the Musical Staff Mesh Border along the bottom. I then added a corner at the top with two layers of torn paper and the Lace Corner Deco 1 .The square frame I cut from chipboard and stamped some images on it and added glossy accented to it. I printed the sentiment from the computer and put it behind the frame. The Whistle a Happy Tune was layered on the side of the frame. The Pocket Watch was tucked behind the frame. The lace corner , watch numbers and hands were colored with inka-golds. I arranged the Cutie Fringe IV, Small Lollipop Fringe , Black Eyed Susan along with the Rose Leaf Strip in the bottom corner as well as a few rose leaves behind the top corner. I used the Embellishment # 2 for the center of the black eyed susan.  Now it is your turn to share your creations with us. So come and join the Cheery Lynn Challenge and get in on a chance to win a $20.00 store credit. Have a crafty week and I will see you back here next week with another challenge.

Steampunk Gal

Hello all you Cheery Lynn fans. This weeks challenge at Cheery Lynn is "Anything Goes". So I decided on steampunk. This is a simple card with only a few dies used. I placed my image and then added the Gear Mesh Border. I tucked the Pocket Watch in behind the border. That is one cool pocket watch. I layer some of the Gears on top of each other . The Hearts and Gears were place at the top of the image. The sentiment Hello finished the card off. It goes to show what you can do with just a few dies. Want to play along? Join the Cheery Lynn challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. Have a wonderful week.

Nature

Hi I am back this week for another new challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs. The theme is "Back to Nature". Something I really enjoy in nature is humming birds. So I used the  Lace Hummingbird Flourish  as my focal point. I placed the  Fall Leaf Mesh Border  and the Fall Leaf Doily w Angel Wing  behind it. I cut a second border and cut the leaves out of it and popped them up on top of the leaves in the border. The Sentiment Frame in the top left corner was perfect to place the word "nature" in. I used crackle glossy accents over nature to give it a cool look. The Pretty Pretty Bow was layered on top of the sentiment frame. I wanted tiny delicate flowers around the humming bird so I used the Tiny Flower Kit. These flowers really are so delicate. I just love them. A bit of stickles, beads and pearls really finished it off nicely. Please come join the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 store certificate. See you next sunday when we have another challenge in store for you.

Celebrate

Well Hello everyone. Nice to see you visit my blog. Cheery Lynn Designs challenge this week is "Celebrate". So here is what I came up with. I started the card by tearing a narrow piece of paper and placing it along the bottom so I had something to tuck the Horizon Coved Rectangle Frame and Horizon Oval Frame behind. The Hinges were added to that strip. I cut and used the two corners of the Lattice Valance Border to place on the corners. They make beautiful corners. I then added the Lattice Heart & Vines and tucked the Whistle a Happy Tune behind it. The flowers used were the Gardenia Strip, Sweet Williams Strip and Black Eyed Susan Strip. The smaller flowers are the center of the Black Eyed Susan Strip. I  then tucked some fibre around the flowers and  added some tiny flowers from the Baby's Breath Flower Kit. The sentiment Celebrate was placed on the ribbon from the Pretty Pretty Bows and then layered across the Lattice Heart. I would like to invite you now to join our Cheery Lynn Designs "Celebrate" challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. Enjoy a crafty week.

Spring Wall Plaque

I'm back with my altered creation for the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge which is
"Think Spring". I started with a wooden plaque. I added some bright spring paper for the background. I place the Pennant along the top with the word spring on it from the Delicate Lace Script. The Classic Birdhouse was place on one side and a couple of the vases from the Vase(set of 4) set on the opposite side.  The vases look cool cut in black and then adding ink a gold so some of the black is still showing.  The flowers are from the Daisy Strip. Some of the Ivy Strip was added around the base of the flowers.  The Trellis is leaning behind the vases . A couple of birds perched are from the Birds of the Earth and Sky. The Grass Border finishes the bottom off nicely.  A couple of tiny dragonflies from the Tiny Things with Wings are hiding is the grass and on the vase. I am so ready for spring. Its been a long winter. I hope you will join the"Think Spring" challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. I always enjoy seeing your creations.

Easter Card

A warm welcome to you. Easter is just around the corner and Cheery Lynn Designs weekly challenge is "Easter". Makes me think of bunnies, baskets and eggs. So I have included all three in creating this card. I wanted a clean simple card that kept the basket, bunny and eggs as the focal point. So here it is. The beautiful Lattice Valance Border  is perfect for up the side. I cut the Lace Egg 5 and the Lace Egg 7 out of some pattern paper for color and then put a off white background behind them. Liquid pearls added to the eggs  really gives them a elegant look. I placed the Spring Basket  in front of the eggs. I added the adorable bunny from the spring basket set and placed some Grass Border along the base of the basket to ground the bunny. Can't have a basket with out a Pretty Pretty Bow on it. The sentiments Happy and Easter finished the card off nicely. Now it is your turn. Please come join the Easter Challenge. You would have a chance to win a $20.00 store credit. I would love to see your creations. Wishing you all a very Happy Easter.
