I'll Tell You a Secret

Here is my Cheery Lynn Designs challenge card for this week. The theme this week is beautiful borders. I made this beautiful border with the new Ankara Lace Border. The ovals matts are the new Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker Frames. I placed the Burlap Border for another layer in the background. A few flowers from the Sweet Williams Strip finished the corner off nicely along with some Olive Branches. The bow is from the Bow and Bell die. Please come and join the challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 certificate. Also check out the creations from the design team using the newly released dies at http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/. Best Friends Sharing a Lollipop

A warm Hello to everyone today. Thanks for visiting my blog again. If you visit the Cheery Lynn Designs website today you will see something very exciting. Their newly released dies are there for everyone to see. What amazing  designs they have come up with for us to create with. They also have two new videos on their site about the new releases which are well worth watching. This card above was created with a few of the newly released dies. To start with the base is  a Step Card die that is totally amazing and a unique base that you can die cut in like two minutes. Wow is all I have to say about it. The Cape Cod w Angel Wing doily has a wonderful pattern and perfect for placing beads around. I tried not to cover up too much of it so you could see all the pattern. Allison's Ribbons up the sides and along the bottom has two dies with the set. One for a assortment of  ribbons and one for different centers for the ribbons. One can always use a assortment of ribbons. The Black Eyed Susan Strip flower is just amazing. I love the fact that the center for the flower is on the same die strip as the  flower petals. A great idea Cheery Lynn. The center on this strip also makes cute little flowers like the three little pink flowers on my card. I also used the  Mini Fanciful Flourish and Flourish Leaf Strip. This is just a few of Cheery Lynn's  new designs.  Visit the Cheery Lynn Inspirational Blog for more ideas for using the new dies. The Design Team will be showing you some of their new creations daily. You can also find the Challenges their as well with more ideas.  Wishing everyone a sunny day.

Friend Card

A warm hello to everyone. Glad you are back for another weekly challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs. This weeks theme is "In Stitches". I started with the brown rose paper for the card base and machine stitched around the edges. I place the awesome Tiny Bubbles Border along the left hand side. I added another layer on top using the Celtic Chain. The Rum Punch Doily w Angel Wing was place as my focal point. I added some stitches around the inside of the doily with a marker. I cut the doily a second time in brown so I could have the center in brown. I then place a single flower from the Sweet William Strip so the center of the doily still showed as it is such a cool pattern. I added two flourishes using the Mini Fanciful Flourish. I cut two Lace Corner Deco J corners and added brown behind them to make them pop a bit. Some ribbon, a button and a metal sentiment with Friend on it gave it a nice touch. I stitched up the center of some of the ribbon using bakers twine. It was fun to use a combo of borders, doilies and corners not to mention flourishes and flowers. Hope you will come join our challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 store certificate at Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge. I would love to see some of your designs.

Christmas Fairy

Well here I am back with another card for the Cheery Lynn Design challenge. This weeks theme is "Christmas in July". It is always fun to do Christmas cards no matter what time of the year.  I always liked this One Free Wish die and hadn't used it yet so thought I would use it for this Christmas card.  I think she makes a beautiful Christmas fairy. The red background is velvet paper and then I layered the Square Scalloped Lg Stacker Nesting on top of it after adding a touch of gold to the edges. The next layer is the Doily Stacker Circles. I cut the fairy out and then again a second time in red velvet and fussy cut out the dress and added a gold belt and then placed it on top of the first cut out. I popped up the One Free Wish to give it some dimension. A touch of gold was added to her wings and around the moon. I also added glitter but it isn't showing up very good. The poinsettia was  created using the Rose Leaf Strip. The leaves behind the poinsettia are also from the Rose Leaf Strip. I tucked in pieces of the Holly Lace Flourish behind the poinsettia. A few red crystals were added to some of the holly leaves and some gold beads to the center of the poinsettia. The beautiful Holly Corner is perfect on the bottom right corner. And the Make A Wish sentiment in the red velvet finishes it off nicely.  Well I hope this all looks good as it is a bit out of the box using the One Free Wish but is nice to used our dies in different ways. Hope I have inspired you and that you will all get into the spirit of Christmas and join the challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 store credit. Look for us on the Inspirational Blog this week as we are moving the challenges to that blog so come on over there and join the fun.

Wedding Wishes

Today I have a  wedding card and a place card to share with you Cheery Lynn fans. This weeks challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is "Wonderful Weddings". While on holiday I always have to scout out scrapbook stores. With a few of the Cheery Lynn challenge themes in mind I was on the hunt for paper. This beautiful wedding paper jumped out at me and this is what I came up with. I placed the Mesh Border and the Lace Light Deco across the bottom of the card. I added the ribbon and bow. The focal point I decided had to be a heart and what better die set to use than the Heart to Heart Doily .I popped it up on top of the mesh border.  I had previously bought a wedding dimentional sticker set with the dress, tux etc. so they were perfect to  placed  on the heart. I used part of the Dancing Doily Lace to fancy up the dress and added a small flower from the BAF Embellishment #2 to the tux. Around the bow I placed the Medium Rose and Large Rose along with some leaves from the Flourish Leaf Strip. Some pearls were also added  around the flowers and for a couple of the flower centers. One of the frames from the Sentiment Frame #1 was perfect in the top left corner to place the wedding wishes sentiment on. Three flowers from the BAF#2 Embellishment were placed above that and a few small leaves from the Flourish Leaf Strip. I must say I would never have thought to do a wedding card in grey and white but with this paper I find it very striking.
The Hearts and Doves Place card  #2 was from the last new release and I have been waiting for a good time to use it so I matched it up with the card and thought it would be nice with the sentiment Love and Marriage on instead of names.
Thanks for dropping by. Now please come on over and join us in the challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree . We would love to see some of your creations.

Mini Album Layout

Glad to see you back. Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge theme this week is "Keep it Krafty" So I have chosen some kraft paper that has clocks on it and to make a mini album page layout. The Kraft paper was cut with the Kaleidoscope Lace French Flair die. This is one awesome die. I started with a matted photo and then tucked the Sophies Heart Mini Doily behind the top right corner so that it matted the clock that I fussy cut from the paper. I used the back of the paper which was plain kraft paper to stamp the Believe frame on. I then added the words "Time well spent" to it. I  popped it up on the bottom corner.  The Two of Hearts I layered one heart  on top of the other  and added a gem to the middle and slid it behind the Believe frame.  I tucked the Nautical Wheeler Doily in behind the photo at the bottom right to add a bit more color. The Ivy Corner Flourish was added around the photo area. The sentiment Love was added to the top corner. I used glossy accents on the words love, time and some of the clock parts. Well that is it for this weeks challenge. I hope I have inspired you to join us in the challenge this week for a chance to win a $20.00 store credit.  Check out the Cheery Lynn Designs Inspirational blog as well for more inspiration from our other design team members.

Fluttery Dragonfly

Here we are back for another Cherry Lynn Challenge. This week the theme is
" Creative Corners". For this challenge I used the Polynesian Sails Oval as my main die. I cut it out in  purple and also in aqua.  I interchanged the pieces mixing the purple and aqua to fit it all back together and popping up the center. The tiny doily that cuts from the middle of the die was also used for the corners by quartering them.  I like that several of the Cheery Lynn doily dies  you get more than just one die as some have a smaller shape in the middle that cuts out. I call them ones the two 4 one dies. LOL   The Dragonfly Small with Angel wing  was perfect for the center with a  bit of glitter on its wings. I placed the Italian Flourish Tiny doily under the dragonfly to make it pop a bit more.   A few pearls were added . This really was a simple and quick card to do using just three dies. Please do come on over to Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog and enter for a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. Also check out the other Design Team members creations at Cheery Lynn Inspirational blog. Check back next week for the "Keep it Krafty" Challenge.

Going Fishing

Well here we are another Monday so another challenge. Hope everyone is having a great day. This weeks challenge theme at Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge  is Red, White and Blue. This one was so fun to do. I started with the cutest little boy going fishing image from Prickly Pear. I cut out around the banner and tucked the  the Lg Sunflower Doily behind it at the top corner. My image was then place on top of it. The reverse side of the paper was used for the Victorian Picket Fence and it looks really cool as it has some red in it making the fence look paint splattered.  I added two strips of the Grass Border off set from each other giving it a nice thick look. The bunny rabbit  from the Sm Spring Basket set is just too cute standing up on his hind legs checking the little boy out. Of course with a little boy on the scene it needed some bees and a ladybug from the Tiny Things with Wings. With glossy accents on the lady bug it look so real. A bit of glitter was added to the three corners. Well I hope I have given you some inspiration and that you will come and join us in the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. Don't forget to check out the Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog with more ideas from our design team. Have a great day.

Cheery Lynn / Prickly Pear Venture Card

A warm hello to everyone. Glad you stopped by. This week Cheery Lynn Designs and Prickley Pear are doing a joint adventure. I would like to send a big Thank You to Prickley Pear for their generous package of stamps and dies that they so kindly gave us .The card above was made using Cheery Lynn Design dies as well as Prickley Pear stamps and dies. It also goes with this weeks  theme "Roses" for the Cheery Lynn Designs  challenge. I started by embossing the card base with Cheery Lynn Designs embossing plate called Diamonds and Starburst. I like that this is a extra big embossing plate. I then brayered some glossy cardstock and embossed a Prickly Pear flower image on it. I use the  Oval Doily Stacker to cut around the image as well as cut a larger one in white for another layer. I traced around the Oval Scalloped Lg Stacker to matt the white doily . The Large Rose, Medium Rose and Minature rose made beautiful roses with the Ivy Corner  Flourish used to add delicate greenery behind the roses. The Dragonfly was created from a stamp and matching die from Prickley Pear. I embossed the Clearly Beautiful Dragonflies in white and then used the matching Dragonfly Die to cut it out. I added some pearls around the white oval doily.
The Lace Corner Deco D corners are so intricate and finished the corners off nicely . Well that is it for this week. Please do check out the Cheery Lynn Challenge and join us by entering one of your creation for a chance to win a $20.00 store credit. Then there is the Cheery Lynn  Inspiration blog to check out as well for more ideas. Also visit Prickely Pear as they have some awesome images and dies to match. They have lots of  great ideas as well as a chance to win some Prickly Pear  goodies.

Rusty Old Train

Good monday morning to all. Here is my take on the  "Make It Manly" for the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge.  It is always nice to do a mans card for the special men in our lives. My hubby always appreciates my hand made cards so I enjoy making them for him as well as for my son and grandsons. This is the new Choo Choo  train from the last release. I cut it from a paper that makes it look old and rusty. This train is way too kool and so detailed. I put some mountains in the background and used bakers twine which worked well for the train tracks. The Dimensional Sm Leaves #1 really worked well to embellish the corners. I inked the leaf dies and then cut them out giving them even more detail. Krinkling them a bit really makes them look so real. The Happy Birthday words are such a nice font and are so easy to cut out and appy to a card. Well hope this gives you some ideas for manly cards and that you will be inspired to come on over to Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge and join the fun with a chance to win a $20.00 store certificate.
