Bling It Up

Glad you stopped by as today a new Challenge starts  at Cheery Lynn Designs. The theme this week is “Bling It Up”. I wanted something simple but yet elegant.  To make the Bling the focal point I just did everything in white except for the aqua colored bling .  I made my card base with the  French Flair Scalloped Lg Stacker. I layered the largest of the French Flair Doily Stackers  on top. The new Rum Punch Doily w/ angel wing  I centered on the card as it was perfect for adding all the bling to because of the design of it. As the finishing touch I used glitter ritz  on the new Just Because sentiment to match the with bling on the doily.  This card really goes to show you that you can make a simple but elegant card with just a few dies.  I want to invite everyone to  come and join the Bling It Up Challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog. By entering you have a chance to win a $20.00 certificate to the store.  You can also visit the Cheery Lynn  Designs Inspiratioal Blog for even more inspiration by the design team.

Mothers Day Card

With Mother's Day around the corner it is time to create a Mother's Day card. With Cheery Lynn Designs theme being a "Mother's Day Card" this week, now is the perfect time to get a head start on Mother's Day cards. This is a fold out type card so the doily with the flowers on it is the main focal point. I used the City Girl Edger and the Mesh Heart [Horisonal] Border at the top and bottom.  The Felicity Doily w/ Angel Wing makes for such a beautiful center. The BAF #2 was used to makes these beautiful roses. The Ivy Strip is great for adding all this lovely greenery. The Mothers and Day dies were great for adding the sentiment. With using just a few dies you can really makes a beautiful Mothers Day card.  It really is such a pleasure to work with all these new dies.

Page Layout and Dream Catcher Card using Newly Released Dies

Today is a special day over at Cheery Lynn Designs. Not only is there a " Pretty in Purple Challenge " starting today but also Cheery Lynn Designs is going to be releasing some new dies today. Cheery Lynn has out done themselves once again with some even more awesome dies. You just have to go to Cheery LynnDesigns and take a peek. There is a great selection of new dies.

I have created a page layout as well as a card this week to show how beautiful the new dies really are. For the layout I followed the“Pretty in Purple "Theme. I Cut the pokadot paper to matte my photo. I added the Country Girl Edger up the side and four Felicity Tiny Doily along the top behind the matting . Both were sprayed with goosebumps to give them texture and to make them shine. I used the Felicity Doily With Angel Wing at the bottom right of the photo. I layered the Ambergris Tiny Doily on top of it. I took the Mini Fanciful Flourish Reverse and matched them up with the flourishes on the paper by coloring the flourish part black and glittering the green leaves. Then came the fun part playing with the three new flower strips making these beautiful flowers. They are the Shasta Daisy Strip, Chrysanthemum Strip and the Sweet William Strip. These flower strips are so quick and easy to work with that you will want all three of them. Spraying goosebumps on some of the flowers and inka gold on others finished them off so nicely. The photo of my two beautiful granddaughters was taken with bright pink dresses on and I changed the photo to black and white and made the dresses purple so they matched the layout.I must say it turned out to be a kool photo and fit right in with the layout.

Now for the card I choose a blue base cut from the Covered Scalloped Rectangle. I then layered different sizes of the Coved Scalloped Rectangles and then added the beautiful Dream Catchers # 1. With everything inked up and a few beads added to the dreamcatcher it looked so real. The feathers have such great detail to them too. I tucked the Rum Punch Doily with angel wing in behind the coved scalloped rectangle. The Ivy Corner Flourish was perfect for the bottom left corner while three feathers with beads look great in the top right corner. What better word to add to the card than Dream. All these dies  just amaze me with all the detail. Hope you have enjoyed seeing these new dies used and that it gives you some ideas for using them. Come on over to Cheery Lynn Designs and join us for the challenge. By entering the challenge you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. Also through out the week the Cheery Lynn Inspiration Blog  will have more ideas for using the new dies .

Frame with Mirror

This was my favorite project of the weekend that I created at Croppin with the Chicks. I started with a 12x12 board. I distressed the base paper and attached it. I then ripped the top piece of paper into pieces. I curled, folded and distressed and  inked the paper as well and pieced it back into place. Kind of like working on a puzzle. LOL. I then placed a mirror on the center and began embellishing it with flowers, flourishes, doilies and borders along with some metal embellishments.

The five following posts below were also either done for the crop or at the crop. So please scroll down and take a peek. A big thank you to Wanda Boyd for putting on such a fantastic crop as always with all the ideas, yummy food and a whole lot of fun and friendship. Can't wait for the fall crop now.

Family Banner

This was a banner I made as a sample for "Croppin with the Chicks". The Cheery Lynn Design doilies really made this a awesome banner. I also made all the roses on the banner from Cheery Lynn Design dies. I did a demo on how to make these roses at the crop and would like to thank everyone who sat in on the demo.

All in the Family

This was a double page layout I did as a sample for "Croppin with the Chicks". I used several Cheery Lynn Designs doilies and butterfly as well as some Memory Box dies.

Three Beautiful Granddaughters

This was a double page layout that I did as a sample for "Croppin with the Chicks". All dies used on this layout are from Cheery Lynn Designs. It is always nice to work with photos of my three beautiful granddaughters.

Cute Little Sarah Kay

This is a card I created  using a Sarah Kay image which was just too fun to color up. I mounted her on a Spellbinder frame and added some flourishes along with some pretty flowers, dragon flies and a butterfly from Cheery Lynn Designs. I used Viva pearl pens for the pearls on the corner of the card.

Kleenex Box Plus

This past weekend I attended the " Croppin With the Chicks" Scrapbook Crop. It was Friday. Saturday and Sunday and what a fun fill three days it was. This altered project was one that I spent some time creating. I started with a wooded kleenex box as well as two divided boxes and attached all three together. I then painted and crackled the box. I used some Cheery Lynn doilies on the top and front. Added some roses, flourishes and leaves along with a couple of gold trimmed chocolate colored gems. I then framed one of my favorite photos of that I took around Lake Louise as the colors matched with the flowers and note pads. This will sit in our travel trailor  With the playing cards, dice, notepads etc and will be very handy.

1912 Fashion Plate

A good day to all. Hope everyone has been enjoying some nice spring weather. Here we are with another weekly challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs with the theme "Anything Goes". I was to a scrapbook store a week ago and some designer paper took my eye.  So I decided to use my new designer paper that I am sure was made to be used with the beautiful Cheery Lynn Designs. I cut the background from the Horizon Coved Rectangle. I fussy cut the beautiful woman and her hands out of the paper and popped it up on the background. The Chasing Rainbows Doily  tucked in behind the lady fit right in.  Some blue  pearls around the doily were added using the Viva liquid pearls. I used the Large Rose and Medium Rose dies for the roses. I also used Cuties 3 for a couple of the flowers. The Minature Rose was used for the small brown flowers. The Olive Branches were used for the greenery. A couple of the  Butterflies from the Tiny Things with Wings were added as the finishing touch. These Cheery Lynn Flower Dies still amaze me each time I use them. The nice thing with them is you can match the color tones up perfectly with your papers. I was very please with the way this card turned out and hope you all enjoy it too. Come on over and play along for a chance to win a $20.00 store certificate . All you have to do is have fun creating and then share it for us all to enjoy. We would love to see your creations. Croppin with The Chicks Coffee Mug

This weekend will be an exciting one. I am off to a weekend  crop call "Croppin with The Chicks". I decided to do a special coffee mug for myself to take to the crop. With the long hours I'll definitly need coffee. I started my base with some country looking sunflower paper.  I stamped the Sarah Kay Country Girl image. She was perfect to for the mug with the chicks all around her. Then after fussy cutting her out I popped her up on the sunflower paper. I used some of the Cheery Lynn chicken wire in front of her and the chicks. I use the Cheery Lynn olive branch to add some greenery around her and the chicks.  I finished it off by adding a tag that has "Croppin with The Chicks" on it. Tim Horton's here I come!

Slingshot Tilda

A warm hello to everyone and  I hope you all  had a good easter. This week over at Cheery Lynn Design Challenge the theme is "Back to Nature".  Recently the design team receive a gift of papers and stamps from Magnolia . So I thought I would use the cute little Tilda with her slingshot and the pretty yellow paper with purple butterflies on it for the back to nature theme. I used the Square Scalloped to edge the magnolia paper. I layered the Nautical Wheeler Doily over the base paper and then double framed Tilda with the  Coved Rectange. I used the Victorian Picket Fence in the forground placing some grass from the Grass Border along the bottom. The Darling Daisies made the perfect little flowers growing in front of the fence. A few butterflies from the Mini Dimensional Butterflies along with a couple of bees from the Tiny Things with Wings set went well with the theme. The  leaves in the top corner were the Dimensional Small Leaves #1  With inking the die and then cutting them out the leaves look so real with the veins showing so nicely. Got to love those leaves. Well that is it for today. Please come over and join the challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs. You will have a chance to win a $20.00 store certificate by entering your creation.
